About Me
Photos by Roy Girasa
My slight obsession with watercolors started when I was around eight years old. My uncle bought me a set of colored pencils that when wet, acted like watercolors. I haven't stopped drawing and painting since (with the exception of when I am in the midst of an auto rehabilitation). My two main subjects of interest are people and vintage racing (both automobiles and motorcycles). When I paint any vintage vehicle, the subject has to have some human element to make it interesting for me.
Like most car nuts, I have my toys in the garage. In there you will find my 1964 Ford Galaxie XL convertible, a 1959 Volkswagen Beetle ragtop in many pieces, and a 1961 Lambretta LI 125 scooter. Surrounding the vehicles are too many vintage magazines and books, antique toys, doodads, and vintage automobile brochures.
I currently reside in Portland, Oregon though I am from the suburbs of New York City. I have also spent extended periods of time in California, Arizona, and Texas.
